Before you dive in too deep about cleaning rituals and “When does the dog need to go poo poo and peepee” I want to introduce my life as a former cat-person. I grew up in a household where cats were only allowed outside in a small shed and/or in the hall. I loved cats and I still do, but I was very much afraid of dogs. Fast forward to 2021, when I met my boyfriend. With a beautiful, cute (if I may say a bit overweight) Golden Retriever named Balou. Until this day, he is still the most well-behaved, loving, and gentle dog I have ever met. When I met my boyfriend, I just thought “How lucky am I to find a perfect match for me AND HE HAS A DOG??”. Well, it still applies, but shifting from a cat-person to a cat-and-dog-person has really changed my perspective on having a dog at home. I always thought, it must be sooo easy to have a dog, you go outside with them 2-3 times a day, give them food and that’s it. But yes, reality has tricked me. I now know how hard it is to live in the same household as a dog, and whether you are considering buying a big dog or have the same issues as me/us, I would like to very warmly welcome you to the disaster called my life.
